Okay, so here is my idea on GoW and GoW2. Campaign, pretty good it does a lot to motivate you to kill those Locust scum (I honestly adore the Locust, ;D they just need a hug) by playing on human need for violence. But this motivation comes from, for me, seeing the beautiful works of humanity crumbling and all due to endless conflict. The use of environment is a lovely idea, Halo could've REALLY borrowed from this concept but this is neither here nor there. The two biggest flaws for me about this game are Over-shoulder FPS and multiplayer. Sort of hard to be accurate and get really good kills when I have to constantly zoom in to even bother with it. This plays into my hatred for the multiplayer, since when you have to aim you can't run and you slow down. Then it also attracts campers, long narrow places with one entrance + torque bows really irck me since it takes no skill to do. You hide out, you kill anyone who tries to uproot you. Normally, the way to take care of a camper is to quickly chuck a 'nade... right? WELL, GoW decided to get rid of that in the middle of a fire fight to make sure you can get the right arc to HOPEFULLY even get close enough to kill the person or get them to come out towards you. Yeah, no luck and when you die, thats it for that round so campers win. I wouldn't be so displeased if you at least got two respawns.. like the one you start with and an extra for when you die once. Another problem with multiplayer is that in conjunction TO the campers you have the chainsawers. Nothing like watching some unskilled person rush out at you as you're trying to take out a camper, REALLY it helps.
It takes skill to use the Longshot, it takes skill to use the pistol, it doesn't take skill to run out at people or camp in a spot with an OP weapon. Then get killed and get to watch your teammates killed in the same manner...
/End.
