Dead Space 2 lives up to its name and its predecessor as well. The game starts in a place called the sprawl which is located in one of saturns moons (i think). The fight for survival starts in the very first scene, seeing necromorphs mutate from dead bodies and how everything around looks just like a nightmare! This game is a survival horror, and it gives a good amount of weapons to use against these necromorphs, of which only a few are actually good. Nonetheless, this game is going to keep you on your toes the whole time! There is a small RPG element where you can upgrade weapons, armor, life(hp), and an oxygen tank, but the only way to survive is to play smart by conserving ammo.
Dead space 2 has an amazing storyline, but in order for it all to make sense and to add those crsip details, certain txt and video logs are scattered around the game that shows what is happening. It all revolves around Unitologists which are scientists that believe that The Marker (A man-made artifact that creates these necromorphs) is the key to life, but as our mind hunted hero Isaac knows, this Marker is nothing to fool around with.
Dead Space 2 comes with multiplayer, but a code is needed to enter this mode. This code ONLY comes with NEW copies, and used copies might have one but it will most likely not work since someone must have already used it which renders it useless. You can still get a code at the website or from xbox live, but well it comes out to be like if u bought it new. This multiplayer is confusing at first playing as the humans, there is an objective but it is very obscure on how to ccomplish it. When you are the necromorphs, well it seems like it is a no brain all out force. As you win and rank up exp, you are able to get more weapons and armor.
Overall this game will keep you awake at night and entertain you for a long while, the multiplayer is not the best one has seen, but i believe it is very good for this genre. There are some areas in the game a lot harder than others, and some that just seem impossible, like the hardest difficulty of the game. I definately recommend this game for those who like games like resident evil and left 4 dead, although i have to say, this will be the most challenging of them all.
