I was searching through the game reviews and I was quite shocked that this game didnt have a single review. Well this game was produced by Aksys Games. That name may sound familiar to some gamers out there because Aksys was the creator of the Guilty Gear franchise. This franchise went bankrupt after the release of Guilty Gear: Overture 2 for the 360. With the lack of money means the shut down of the Guilty Gear project but also gave a clean start to launch another series which is now Blazblue.

Blazblue is a 2D fighter with beautiful 3D animated backgrounds which gives you the best out of both animations. Blazblue is quite similar to Guilty Gear  with the exception of a few things. Aksys gave each character a "drive move." It is a move that sets each character apart by giving them a special ability. Wether that be freezing your enemy, controlling the wind in your advantage, magnatizing your opponent to draw them closer, or to even regain health in battle. This game has 12 characters, to some this may be a downfall for the game.   This game features hand drawn characters, cut-scenes, awesome soundtrack, and much more. It follows an intense story line  that links all characters together in some way. It gets very complex in some aspects though. This game sets itself apart from the other big fighting titles by giving you direct interation with the story line which can produce a different outcome at the end. Blazblue holds a great online community and like must great fighting games, allows you to play with people across the world.

Some people may dislike this game because they feel like some of the characters are unbalanced. In some aspects this is true but most fighting games have this problem. Titles such as Street Fighter IV and Soul Calibur IV produce the same difficulties for gamers. This should encourage the gamer to play more instead of just giving up and tossing the game to collect dust.
Overall Blazblue: Calamity Trigger is very unique, has a lot of replay value, and is one of my favorite fighters of all time. This game franchise has a bright future ahead of it and if this is what they have to offer at the beginning then i cant wait to see what else they have to come. I give Blazblue: Calamity Trigger a 9 out of 10.
