So, I just got done watching "Knowing" and my god, that movie is so orgasmic!! I love Nicholas Cage. =)
for those of you have seen that movie you'll know why I'm bringing up "Fire"
Out of all the fears I have "ZOMBIES.. v,.,v ... Spiders ... Fire"
Fire is my greatest fear... and I just thought of something... In a way.. I kinda am like batman. Even tho I fear fire, I wanna learn how to weild it, so I can share my fear with my enemies. Ever since I was a little girl, and my friends and I would play little make believe games, I would always have some sort of fire power. Playing Salormoon, I would always be Rei Hino "Salor Mars" .
I'm like thinking about my life in the future, what kind a guy would I marry "Hopefully someone like tuxedo mask WHOO HOO!!!" lol... I already have names chosen for my children. I wont say the boys name 'cuz everytime I do someone always has to say "Do you want your child to be picked on in school?" I was picked on about my name in school, hell, I was picked on about the size of my lips! No matter what I name my child, there will be something kids are gonna make fun... but my Daughters name will be Sekhmet. for those whom don't know Sekhmet is Ra's daughter "ancient Egyptian sun god."
I love egyptian history "or Greek mythology"! I'm going to list a few things here that I find interesting about this little lioness!
Sekhmet:She is depicted as a lioness, the fiercest hunter known to the Egyptians. It was said that her breath created the desert. She was seen as the protector of the pharaohs and led them in warfare.
Consequently, it was Sekhmet who was seen as the Avenger of Wrongs, and the Scarlet Lady, a reference to blood, as the one with bloodlust.
She also was seen as a special goddess for women, ruling over (menstruation) "I laughed at this"
Her name suits her function and means, the (one who is) powerful. She also was given titles such as the (One) Before Whom Evil Trembles, the Mistress of Dread, and the Lady of Slaughter.
Sekhmet was believed to protect the pharaoh in battle, stalking the land, and destroying the pharaoh's enemies with arrows of fire. An early Egyptian sun deity also, her body was said to take on the bright glare of the midday sun, gaining her the title Lady of Flame. It was said that death and destruction were balm for her warrior's heart and that the hot desert winds were believed to be her breath.
In order to placate Sekhmet's wrath, her priestesses performed a ritual before a different statue of the goddess on each day of the year. This practice resulted in many images of the goddess being preserved. It is estimated that more than seven hundred statues of Sekhmet once stood in one funerary temple alone, that of Amenhotep III, on the west bank of the Nile. It was said that her statues were protected from theft or vandalism by coating them with anthrax.
Isn't she awesome? I love that name.. Sekhmet =) .. It makes me tingle. Isn't it such a beautiful name? I think so. ^,.,^
