I was in the airport on my way home from Orlando the other day (I'll talk a little about that after) when I decided to grab a book for the flight home. I went into Borders, and I thought 'hey maybe I'll grab 'Halo: The Fall of Reach."' I really doubted that they had it, I thought maybe it wasn't taken too seriously or something. When I asked the woman behind the counter she never heard of it, and couldn't find it. Out of nowhere (ok, next to her behind the counter) the other register lady says she knows what I'm talking about, and that it's actually pretty popular. I bought it, and I just finished it. I must say, the book was a lot better than I expected. In fact, it was really really good. If anyone is a Halo fan I suggest picking this one up. Its very well written, and entertaining, while filling you in on Halo lore. I am probably going to pick up the other two (I think its two) also.
Now on to my vacation. I was in Orlando for six days with my girl and her family. It was my first time down there, and I wanted to do as much while still relaxing. I went to Universal, Hollywood studios, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and some water park that I can't remember the name of. Th water park was really cool, and Universal was awesome (you need to do the Spiderman 3D ride), but honestly the Disney parks were a bit of a let down. From everyone telling me I would have a blast, I expected an experience set up for kids and adults to enjoy, but it felt too kiddie. I did a few other things at the resort, partied at the pool alot (infact so much the first night that I passed out stone drunk at 6:30 in the evening till 1:30 am face down on our concrete balcony), got a massage, and actually played golf for the first time. I'll be posting photos in a day or so once I steal them from my girl's camera.
