Se Te Sube El Muerto
Has anyone heard of this phenomenon? It's when you're half awake in bed, you can see , and hear but can't move. It feels like you have a dead weight on you hence the Latino way of putting it: "Se te sube el muerto" or "A dead person crawls on top of you".

It happens to me frequently for some reason. One time I could actually feel someone climbing into the bed with me even though I was alone and deadbolted the door. I could see and feel it happening but couldn't move.

It happened again recently and saw a human-like shadow looming over my bed!

I read some explanations on the web. One being that the brain and body shut off at different intervals so hence the mind being aware but not the body. Another saying that it had something to do with potassium dificiency. And still another about astral projection. o_0

Some also said its one step away from sleepwalking...no pun intended.

Maybe its just one too many Hot Pockets before bed...

Anyone else experience this?

Really? Cause another one of the reasons this happens to people is them having a crazy homicidal Latina girlfriend! Hahaha! Just kidding!

here are some causes
Sleeping in a face upwards or supine position
Irregular sleeping schedules; naps, sleeping in, sleep deprivation
Increased stress
Sudden environmental/lifestyle changes
A lucid dream that immediately precedes the episode.
