ehh doesn't matter now, I've already changed all my passwords on my sub-accounts linked to my PSN and I've canceled my card and ordered a new one from the bank.

I honestly compare the hackers to toddlers, all they did was download firmware someone else made, which doesn't really take much skill. It was the whole water dripping on a stone theory can, in time, destroy the stone. Or something along those lines. Only in this case, the stone was sony, and the water drops were buckets full of morons.

I didn't really know much about this until yesterday around 6-ish. Explains why no one was playing Portal online from the PS3. >:

Ehh in most cases sure, but not these guys. These hackers go by the name "Anonymous" and really know what they are doing. They have brought down and crashed several websites such as the Westboro Baptist Church (bunch of fucking psycho paths) and the Church of Scientology's official website. They are the reason that the PS3 network was shut down. This will cost Sony millions. They did it because a guy named George Hotz broke the PS3's code and was able to run "home brewed" app's on it. He also was the first to jailbreak the PS3 and the Iphone. Sony sued George Hotz and apparently he was friends with these hackers. The hackers warned Sony that if they did not drop the charges something bad would happen, Sony did not listen and continued the lawsuit. The hackers responded by attacking PSN forcing Sony to abruptly cut off access to the PS Network, Playstation violated 77 million personal contracts that they had with their users. Sony makes you sign a privacy agreement when making a PSN account and it clearly states that your personal info will not be shared with anyone. Sony was telling people their PSN system was safe and secure when it wasn't. The Playstation is fucked because of this.

Lulz, I know who anonymous is. I did a twilight raid with them last year and snagged an admin account from some kid on the forums before they even knew what they were doing. Operation Twirape I believe back on Partyvan before it got shut down. You can still go on and look at upcoming raids if you know how. They don't really get an A+ for coming up with operation names but y'know. Anyone who doesn't divulge who they are, are technically anonymous. There's the degrees in which you're anonymous.

If you download firmware, steal something from the PSN store, then brag. You're not winning any medals from literal anonymous. Anywhooo, this really wasn't their greatest work, seems a bit lacking. But I know what you're getting at.

It's fun as hell watching them go. They're like army ants that can shoot lasers from their eyes. Apparently PV is back up (No idea when this happened). You can also look at their affiliates to see what they're doing. They do a lot of small things, but nearly everything is there.

This is why I'm okay with paying for LIVE, sure it's rather costly, but I've never NOT been able to got on due to someone hacking the LIVE system. I love this though, I get to rub it in the faces of my friends who say PS3 is SOOOOO much better.

Everyone here already knows that Xbox Live > PSN.
What's there to discuss, you get what you pay for. Sony rushed an unfinished product to the market in order to compete with Live. They're now paying the price.

We also know that: YOU DO NOT PISS OFF HACKERS!!!
Suing GeoHot was the biggest mistake Sony has ever made and I can GUARANTEE you that they're now regretting it.

Yeah, I've been watching this unfold. Ultimately, the hackers committed the crime and should be held accountable (however, they likely have nothing of value). But, Sony, can't escape the fact they dropped the ball, and they dropped it hard. I just had a buddy who's a die hard Sony fan pony up for a 1 year gold account and BLOPS on 360...

On another note, Microsoft, has issued a warning about phishing in MW2... I know what government program is going to get an extra push from voluntary, to mandatory...
