where to begin.............
I bought Nitro for my birthday in Feb. He's an 4yr Gelding (male) Appendix (Thoroughbred Quarter horse cross). he has been put to pasture since he was 4 mths so he's green (wild). with no human contact i had to catch him and stable him in order for him to get used to ppl being around. well after months of me going up there every other weekend i got him Halter broke. which means he comes when called, i can put a halter on him and lead him, basicaly he knows basic comands. well 2 wks ago i pushed...i threw a blanket and strapped a saddle and got on. and he didn't do anything. we were all excited!!
well this past weekend i worked him in the round pen & strapped a saddle on him. i had him tied to a post and i put my foot in the saddle and just layed on the saddle for him to get use to the weight on his back. for some crazy reason he went nuts and the back of the saddle got jammed into my ribs and he broke em. so i had to walk away for a bit and try to breathe without crying. well my step dad had a few beers and he thought 'fuck it, lemme get on him"......soooo.....i'm holding the halter on the other side of the post and Tom gets on him for 2 seconds and it was on, better then any rodeo. all i remember seeing was Nitro rearing up and i thought to myself "holy shit he's gonna break his neck" so i went to pull the quick release so he wouldn't be tied to the post know more and i looked up and he lundged over the post and was ontop of me. He came down and landed ontop of my shoulder and then when i hit the gound he stepped on my back and launched himself back into the air. I got fucked up!! as for Tom he went flying over the both of us and landed on his face.
we both got some pretty good injuries....I got broken ribs, and a cracked collar bone...Tom got a broken hand, 2 broken ribs and a broken nose. like i said...WE GOT FUCKED UP. and we'll both be back out there this weekend with Nitro again....lol
