No blog from me yesterday, due to a combination of being both busy and lazy, so I will catch up now.
The dashboard is here -what do you think? Any problems?
Its fine. It was a quick download for me (I must have timed it right), and set-up was quick too. The avatar is OK, a bit of fun. I made mine quickly so that I could move on, although I was immediately told that it really does look like me! The only problem was it kept locking up, although that seems to have healed itself.
What's your most memorable Xbox Live moment?
Like many others, there is no specific moment, but just memories of good laughs with friends. I do not take my gaming seriously, I’m only here for a giggle, and luckily, I have a good group of friends who can provide that.
TODAY’S FACTS: 23rd November:
Harpo Marx, the frizzy-haired Marx Brother with the dirty raincoat, was born on this day in 1893. Although he acted the mute on film, Harpo could in fact, speak quite normally.
Do you ever hold back telling a GTP member what you think of something this person did because this person is your friend and you fear how they will react if you are brutally honest with him or her?
Yes. I was betrayed by a GTP regular some time back who was spreading rumours to other members about me. None of it was true and it was like being back in the playground at school. To be honest, if this person’s life is so sad and empty that they have to do this, then I just feel sorry for them. I have never told this person that I know what they were doing, or that one of the people they were telling these stories to was so disgusted by their behaviour that they immediately felt they should inform me. Although they are on my friends list, I do not consider them a friend, and if we ever met in real life, they would quickly find out, not only that I know about what they have done, but also, exactly how I feel about their behaviour. Also, I am not frightened of what their reaction might be, but perhaps they should be of mine! Many of you will have noticed that I very rarely give away anything about my private life in my blogs either, but I guess that is just the way I am.
Well, that was the last of ‘Cookie’s Topics’. It is great to have a daily topic back, but Cookie deserves much thanks for keeping them going during its absence.
What would you do with your life if there was no Xbox Live?
TODAY’S FACTS: 24th November:
Charles Darwin’s The Origin of Species, one of the most important books in the history of mankind, was published on this day in 1859. The phrase, ‘the survival of the fittest’, which is central to the books argument, was not thought up by Darwin however, but was borrowed from another scientist, Herbert Spencer, who had coined it a few years earlier.
