i loveee american idol and i love ellen, but these two don't seem to miz. it's a singing contest, so i have no idea as to why they would pick somebody with no musical background...unless there is something we do not know about ellen that will be revealed in the season premiere?...she may be a closet superstar singer? :P

At first I read that and was like : Nooo way that is a fake story .. so I checked it out. Interesting choice I have to say .. but a much needed one. Paula leaving sucks the nicer of the personalities from the panel. You need a personality couch to the contestants just as much as the vocal judges. Ellen represents an idea of being yourself and having fun with what you do. She will lighten the overall damper mood the other judges will put on the contestants.

Ellen knows the business. It is all Showlatics (Show bix politics) She knows about being judge for who u are, so in that fashion I say bravo to the choice. As much as people like seeing Simon Tear down people the show would not be watchable if all they did was toon in every week to see them cutdown these hopefuls. There has to be some kind of positive light to it or else they would lose a lot of younger viewers.

Plus they just added all her fanbase to the show how opportunistic of them. And let's be real, if this show was concerned about producing quality artists then america would not have the final vote on who wins...because we are talentless nobody's who don't know the business judging these people with a text message. That is why Kris won last year over Adam..Both talented but you had to know it was more on who they are a person than the talent.....

Oh and last extra comment I swear lol... If you think about it Ellen would be the judge most like the American Public who is voting. Hell she is a fan of the show and always voted. But she represents the people who are not singers but like music and like to be entertained. She is an entertainer. She can bring out the ..."don't be afraid to entertain us" feeling that Simon likes to repress "I don't know what that was ... dancing around and what not.. but I didn't like it.." I would like to see less of the standing in front of a mic singing and more use the stage to get people going that makes us go to concerts in the first place.

And it is not like she joined during the audition phase.. she had no part in that .. she joins after the hollywood round.. which at that point is now America's choice.. so to me .. that doesn't hurt a thing

It's perfectly fine, I have typos sometimes. I just hope it doesn't end up a bad decision or turns off some fans of the show. It's sad that Paula left, I agree, she had both a positive couch side and be able to make that tough call without questioning herself. It comes down to, will she be able mentality to handle the task. Yeah, she can throw a few jokes and lighten things up, but at the end of it all, she has to make a tough call with who she thinks is America's next Idol.

I love her show, and everything, but that's just my personal opinion. I'm glad you spoke your mind about it. That's the kind of response I want with my blogs. I hate when people just post, and not give their own opinion on things, and just follow like brain washed zombies. Thank you.
