Got up at 6am Friday, headed to the train station, half asleep. Got on my train, changed bolton, manchester and sheffield. Arrived in Derby at 11 after 3 hours on the train. Met up with ma'friend and headed to her house. All good up to that point, little rain, nothing major, got there and her friend was involved in a little drama with her parents, so we left and went to the cinema.
Watched Die-Hard 4.0, the cinema was practically empty, which was good, the film was okay, dragged on a little though. I never get why the bad guy doesn't just shoot the hostage, and ends up dead. So apart from the frustration it was causing it was aiight.
Getting out of the cinema was baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad, the weather was terrible, raining hard and we had to go out in it, waiting for the bus, for about 10minutes before it finally arrived. Wet, cold, and half a hour from her friends house.
After that, it was all good, just kicked it and did nothing but watch TV all night with her and a few other people. Yesterday was the worst. Set of to the train station and arrived at 4pm. Got on the train, and went to the next station. Only to find that my next train had been cancelled. So now, I'm stuck, No idea what I was going to do or which train to catch. I went and asked the guy at the desk, I told him where I was heading and he looked at me with the 'Sucks for you' look when he saw my train had been cancelled, and told me about another route I was to take.. The train I'd just got off was going to where I now had to go to. Got there, had to wait another 20minutes for my train, which took another hour and 15minutes to get where I needed to be.
Already a hour late after my train being cancelled, and then another half a hour because the train I was on took so long to arrive at the station, I had to run to the next platform, only to find that THAT train was late too. Only took a few minutes to get to my next stop. Waiting for my next train, which was also late, I was getting annoyed and frustrated, it was cold and wet, and my Ipod had died.
Over 2hours late, but at least I was heading for my home town now, I should be home within the hour I thought, but no... The train stops, another half a hour, waiting for another train to come through before we could proceed.. quite possibly, one of the most annoying moments of my life in the last few years. Then it took another hour to get home from the station. Went to see my niece, sister and mum and then headed home to bed.
The rain is what caused all the delays and cancellations with the trains, I couldn't really complain about it though, after-all the damage that has been done to the towns around the country, floods and all. But still, not a pleasant experience.
