Heck No! Nobody touches the console. I don't let people touch my discs either. I've always been paranoid about damage both to discs and the console due the to frailty(?) of them both. There's nothing worse than having someone else break your stuff. Obviously, I've since come to realise, that the console will break regardless of how well you treat it.
For a long time I actually thought I was going to avoid the console malfunctioning, with the "it won't happen to me" mentality. But this wasn't the case either, and Xbox went KAPUT! I wouldn't be bothered if MS wasn't taking their sweet-ass time to process the order. I'm still waiting to be able to send the damn thing off, I'm not a happy little camper... blah. For a while I thought I might have to pack the thing in my own box or something and send it off, I really don't know to be honest, everything is just hella confusing to me. I'm pretty confident they're gonna send me a box, but if someone in the UK can confirm this for me, I'm'a appreciate it.
The wait was making me consider opening up the console and trying to fix it myself. From what I can gather, alot of the problems are caused by the solder melting when the overheating occurs. I don't think this is the case with mine though, considering it shut off after I restarted it. It doesn't matter really, as long as it gets repaired soon. I'm getting to the part where I have to start doing other things to keep me occupied. It's too cold to go outside these days, but many a night I find myself walking home in the cold, rainy weather after a visit to a friend. Blah.
I did get a quick chance to play Mirror's Edge on my brothers Xbox the other day. A very good game in my opinion, very different too, but pretty linear, and I'm stuck at the minute in an office where the ex-wrestler was. I gotta find my way out, but swat are not friendly people and tend to kill me before I can find my way up to the third floor door or whatever. I got annoyed with it and just turned it off.
As I sit here, bittely bored and with no real desire to move, I try to pick some music out for my phone. The type of music that throws people off when they get within ear shot of it. "I didn't think he'd be listening to that" kind of music. I love to throw people's initial perceptions of me out the window and witness the look on their face when they get it wrong, you wouldn't believe how often it happens. Anyways, any suggestions? loud, heavy, and maybe not very coherent? I've spent the last few days re-aquainting myself with my old friend "music" and I'm glad to say we're getting along like a house on fire.
Taproot, Rehab, Chamillionaire, Bubba Sparxxx, Disturbed, Trapt.. the list goes on.
I've been using it to drown out the world around me lately, and my own thoughts I guess. My mother is not so well at the moment, and has been complaining of great pain for the last few months. Recently it's been getting on top of her and she's collapsed a few times, and fainted a few more because of it. But she's been keeping this on the low, until the other day when we heard a loud crash and she had no choice but to tell us. Still, with that, she's refusing to go to the doctor about it, and it's clearly got her shaken. The other day especially, she was sat in my nans house, and her right hand was shaking irratically and clearly visably. Which brings me to the conclusion that it could be a serious problem and she's afraid to go get it checked out. We've since put our foot down on the matter, but it looks like she's trying to get her way out it and avoid the whole doctor thing. It's making me think all sorts of crazy things, no joke.
It doesn't help that I'm not able to keep my mind occupied. Even the slightest thing can take my mind off anything, but right now I got nothing, blah. I find myself reading more than I normally would, which I guess it's a side-effect of not being able to game. Finished the 3rd Dexter book last night, and although they're not long, they're exceptionally good. Gotta move on to something else though now. Dont' know what though.
Speaking of stories, glad that Politically Correct : Red Riding Hood Story got the reception it deserved. I thought it was hilarious when I read it, some others did too, excellent stuff.
Have a nice day and stay good one and all.
