The first time my heart was broken was back many years ago. I was a wee-lad, christmas was upon us. Back in a time when it used to snow, and people weren't concerned with offending other religions. I've always been big on playing games, I live in England, it rained alot, so it was a good way to pass the time, anyway, I knew what I was getting, the Mega Drive 2. I already had the original, but this one looked cooler! My mum and dad were going out and we were told not to look for it or else they'd send it back. Obviously we weren't going to believe such an idle threat, they wouldn't do that to a kid at Christmas, so we looked for it, we found it, we played it, we loved it. Even though it was the same console as the one I already had, it was still amazing. Afterwards, we put it back in the box, shut it up, put back in the EXACT position we'd found it in and pretended we didn't look.
Christmas day... no Mega Drive 2, they did it... I couldn't believe it. I probably cried about it too, I don't remember all the details. I'm not sure how it all worked out in the end, but I think it came down to them finding out it was the same console and just took it back. Purely coincidental they made that threat and then took it back after we'd been messing with it. I still had all the games that were with it though, so I wasn't bothered all that much. Everyone knows that the SNES is the best console from the 16-bit era though. Back when, I had the SNES with a Super Wildcard thing on top. It was a black box that sits on top of the SNES. It had the slot at the top to put the cartridge and a slot at the side for floppy disks. The best thing about it is you could copy games from the cartridge to the floppy disc in a couple of seconds. When I got the thing I had hundreds of games. Some great games too, Rock 'N' Roll Racing, Metal Warriors, Bomberman 5, Biker Mice From Mars, all sorts. That console kept me entertained for many years, until something happened to it and I put a floppy in it and it messed the thing up... That was the second time I got heart broken... I tried everything to revive that damn wildcard... R.I.P....
In all seriousness though, I don't think I've ever been heartbroken by a relationship. I've always been the one holding the cards I guess. I was with my first girlfriend for about two years, so when that was falling apart, that kinda hurt, but I knew it was for the best and I didn't dwell on it. Though I did hold a grudge, I don't think I spoke to her for about 18months. Even when we were in the same room. She was being a fool about it, so I just wasn't going to listen to her.
How come nobody plays PGR these days? Greatest racing game IN THE WORLD? And whilst C.O.D was falling apart last night, PGR was working pretty well. I was having no problems once I got into the game, but others were, very few, one person was kicked from the game when it ended but we invited them and everything was fine again. I got a cool picture for y'all, it's a little off, because my little brother doesn't know the meaning of "make sure it looks the same". Observe...
Awesome, no? Mine being the one on the right, his the left. I'll get them looking exact later on. I was gonna go for the same colours, but decided it was better to keep the individuality on each car.
I've been on my PC for the last twenty minutes. Signed into MSN as soon as it came on and ONLY NOW, is it telling me that I'm signed in. Windows Live Today just popped up and so did the little box that tells me what I'm listening to, Hitman - Japanese Mansion. It "should" be playing with this, everytime I come to view a comment though it seems to be acting up when playing, say, starting half-way through the song or something stupid like that. I love this song though, Jesper Kyd is a genius, although, not so much on Hitman : Contracts. Bring Hitman 2 : Silent Assassin to the Xbox 360, I want to play that game! Compared to the two sequels, it feels rough to play, but it's still a great game. Can't wait for the next hitman game.
The New Year is upon us people. The time for getting drunk and fighting with relatives, what? That's just my family? Of course not, we ALL do it, haha. Depending on who is going to be there, I might show my face and have a little drink, just to bring in the new year. If it looks like trouble could be brewing, then I'll probably stay home and just play Live or something, I'm not big on late nights lately. I made it to 3am last night which was one hell of an achievement. Watched the Evil Dead 2, finally... I haven't seen it for a long long time, but what the hell is going on with the whole de-ja-vu thing at the start? One bridge, cabin in the woods, necklace, same guy, book of the dead, tape recorder? The three other people who get killed at somepoint? It still a good film, horrible special effects, though I love the part where he's being attacked by his own hand. Smashing plates on himself and then dragging his body along the floor to pick up the butchers knife, haha, classic.
I haven't seen Mars Attacks in an age either. I noticed it was on the Xbox Live MarketPlace thing. So I'll probably end up watching that at some point before the night is through.
"So i'm back on Xbox Live, not as much as I used to be, never will be I suspect, but still, from time to time I'll be playing online. I'm in the process of buying more games for my 360, and as of yet, not got a wide choice of playable games.
I've been signed up to this site for a little over 18months, and I don't think I really used it too much, not to it's potential anyway, played with a few cool people on the original Xbox, and hope to do the same with 360 games.
I was always put off making up my intro pages, mostly because I couldn't seem to think of anything to put, couldn't structure it and never really compared well against over people's pages :| I'll put more effort into it this time around though."
It's been a little over 6months since I got my 360. Had been putting it off for a while, mostly because I didn't think I'd be online quite as much as I am. That is the first blog I posted since I came back to using Live. I made my intro pages, not great, but they get the job done. I'm happy with them as they are, I've played with many cool people from the site, and rekindled that passion for Live that I was missing when all anyone wanted to play was Halo2.
So to all those I have played with, spoke to, or am yet to meet, have a very good day, a Happy New Year, and I hope it takes every single one of you to somewhere great in 08.
Anthony
