Gamebattles.com (link above) is a huge gaming site for people who want to get into competitve gaming. I'm not talking pro, although there are some "pro" teams on there. Basically, any game with an online feature is good to go on there. Halo3, COD4, PGR4, Gears Of War, Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2. Almost anything.
I'm speaking purely from what I know already and that would be based around COD4. I assume though that it's basically the same setup for the other games. First thing, you set up an account for yourself on GameBattles.com. it doesn't have to be your GamerTag, but that's what I choose to use. Next thing you do is either find, or create a clan on the ladder of your choice.
The Ladder is basically a league table, the way this works is you pick a team, or you are challenged by a team, accept, meet at the arranged time, play, win/lose, record your scores on the site and get points added or removed depending on the outcome.
You must be in your clan 12hours before you can play with it. If you've created your own clan, all members have to be in it for 12hours before they are eligable to play. You can challenge any team you like on the table, select the time, date, game types, score limit, etc. Each gametype has a unchangeable set of rules issued by the website. Such as time limit, Score Limit, and the maps used are generated randomly by the site.
You can be a part of one team on each of the ladders from your region. America, Europe, Asia, etc. It's set up like this to avoid the laggy connections. If you can't find yourself a team and don't feel like creating one, then you can set yourself up as a free-agent and await requests from other clans.
And there ya go. So there isn't really much to say today, Nice day, sun is shinning, obviously still cold out though. Nothing planned again, slow days, gotta love 'em. Anyways, Y'all have a nice day.
