So the day before yesterday I managed to break my PC. I'm not entirely sure what the deal with it was but it had my family in a state of disarray and boredom (addicted to the internet). I basically stuck the vacuum cleaner into it and gave it a good cleaning, which it desperately needed. Somewhere along the line I managed to knock something that would stop it working, even though I was extremely careful, or at least as careful as you can be when you stick a nozzle into a PC chasis.
I tried looking at it a few times but couldn't figure out wht was wrong with it. I had a theory that I'd knocked the Heatsink slightly and that was causing it to power off right away. This seemed logical, and was the issue I prayed for, as the other causes for it shutting down where gonna cost money to repair. I decided I'd remove the Heatsink and take a look at it, this took two days, for some reason I couldn't get the damn things off. I tried everything I could and they still stayed firm, so I eventually gave up, Until last night. I tried again, and EVENTUALLY, managed to get them off, after that I gave it a quick clean, lined up the CPU and put it all back into place and locked it down, shut up the casing and wired it up once more. I held my breath, prayed a little and pressed the power button, low and behold, life was given.
This scenario has given me a slight boost of confidence in my technical know-how. Yesterday I didn't even know where the CPU laid (not for sure anyway). Today I know where it is, what it looks like, how to remove it and put it all back together. I'm very happy with myself *smug look*. This is a resting point on the road to my next stop, building my own PC. It's not nearly has as complicated as it once looked, so I figured I'd give it a whirl and save some money in the process. Nothing fancy for my first, but hey, who knows where this could go.
I got Rock Band 2 yesterday, better than Rock Band 1, but not as good as Guitar Hero : World Tour or Guitar Hero 3. I still like it and it's a blast to play, I hate how you have to play through the songs to unlock them in quick play though. Blah. Feels more like a tast than a game, blah. Oh well, I'll be happy when I've done it. Still playing Halo3, getting addicted, just all round healthy gaming fun. Skate 2 is a good game also, enjoying that one, though I'm only renting it.
Very quickly, the blog topic, do I play or have I played games naked? Yup, haha. I used to all the time when I'd wake up, or after I got out the shower or just when it was really hot. That was back in the days when there was no one else to walk in and see me, nowadays with family being everywhere, the same luxuries don't apply. When I get my own place though, haha, I doubt I'll ever be dressed, Who isn't playing Games naked these days? Kevin's campaign has spread it's message far across Xbox Live, we are now the majority!
Anyways, I guess I should go ahead and get something done around here while everyone is out.
Hope everyone is good and all
Anthony.
P.S. Kevin, you owe me a game... didn't see you ALL weekend, blah.
